New Academic Year

Posted by Pablo Molina at 9:46 AM - Categories: Technology resources

Every year I am overcome with the excitement of a new academic term. The next few months will be very dynamic on account of all the new technology developments that are becoming available to the general public. Google, one of the most active technology companies, continues to release amazing software packages and services to manage information and communicate: Desktop, Earth, Talk, Scholar, Print, etc. Apple keeps expanding its share of the higher education market in general, and the legal education market in particular, with its laptops and music players. Microsoft is working hard to release a new version of its web browser, Internet Explorer, and its flagship operating system, Windows Vista. Creative Internet technologies, such as Veepers or the Facebook, are becoming increasingly popular.

Email and calendar upgrade

Posted by Pablo Molina at 2:34 PM - Categories: Announcements

The IST Department had planned to migrate the Law Center community from the Sun Microsystems email system to the Microsoft Exchange email system over the summer. However, due to the fact that the necessary equipment did not arrive in time, we are postponing the migration. The IST Department hopes to receive all of the equipment, install the necessary software and test the new system during the fall semester. If everything goes smoothly, we will migrate to Microsoft Exchange over the winter break. Thank you for your patience.
