NTP and RIM have settled their differences in the Blackberry patent litigation cases. Our Blackberries will operate without disruption in the near future. I anticipate that the service will become more expensive to make up for the $615 million settlement. On March 3, 2006 the University announced that it had reported to law enforcement authorities a criminal attack recently carried out on a server connected to the Georgetown network. The computer server was managed by a Georgetown University researcher as part of a grant provided through the D.C. Office on Aging, and it contained personal information of people who have been served by that office. The University has a website (http://identity.georgetown.edu) to provide further information about this incident.
