On behalf of the technology team, it is my pleasure to welcome the new and returning members of the community to a new academic year. I would like to share with you our new strategic plan for technology, available on-line at http://www.law.georgetown.edu/ist/missionstmt.htm , The plan anticipates an early adoption of Microsoft Windows Vista and Office 2007, and Apple’s new operating system, Leopard, among other initiatives. To support the plan, the Law Center has actively worked with other Georgetown University departments to renew agreements with Dell and Apple, and to sign a new agreement with Microsoft. The goal is to ensure that faculty, staff, and students receive adequate sales and support services for office and personal hardware and software at discounted prices. Do you find working with other Georgetown University departments to establish a consistent IT plan to be very difficult? Do other departments see the importance of having compatible systems/applications across departments?
