Students Interviewing Skills Workshop.  Additionally, you will hear from Ms. Chang Oh Turkmani, Adjunct Professor at Law, Georgetown University Law Center and Managing Director of the Mega Company addresses the following topics: 

  1. Her career path
  2. What are employers looking for when interviewing an LL.M. vs. a J.D. candidate?
  3. What at the basic qualities that are employers looking for in an ideal candidate?
  4. Questions that an interviewee should and should not ask during a 20-minute interview.
  5. How can an interviewee appear flexible, but not to the point of looking desperate or not focused?
  6. How can an interviewee gain control of an interview and refocus to get his/her message across without feeling or appearing to be rude?
  7. How to address open-ended and close-ended questions. What answers are employers looking to hear in response from questions such as:
    • Tell me about yourself
    • Where do you see yourself in five years from now?
    • What are you strengths and weaknesses?
    • How long do you expect to stay in the U.S.?
  8. How does an LL.M. student address difficult questions, such as: Are you planning on returning to your home country?

Part II:  Advice On How to Prepare for an Interview from the Perspective of a Law Firm Partner
