What is Graduate Professional Development?
Graduate Professional Development is a group of experienced attorneys that provides professional development and career advising services to Georgetown Law’s U.S. and foreign-trained graduate students to make them more marketable to employers. Graduate Professional Development also works with individual employers to create recruitment arrangements tailored to their needs and preferences. Please view our Recruiting Services for Employers Brochure for detailed information about the services we provide to employers interested in connecting with graduate students at Georgetown Law.
Who Are Our Graduate Students?
We have about 400 full-time students and 100 part-time graduate students. About 200 of the full-time students and most of the 100 part-time students are U.S.-educated. Many of the full-time students have just completed their J.D. programs, but we also have many U.S.-educated students (particularly the part-timers) who have been in legal practice for a few years. The other 200 full-time students are foreign-educated, from over 64 countries, and have generally practiced law for a number of years.
