Georgetown Law Academic Programs

Georgetown Law’s J.D. program is one of the most respected in the nation — and our LL.M. and S.J.D. programs are recognized around the world. In addition to the traditional 1L curriculum, Georgetown offers an alternative first-year curriculum that takes a more critical and theory-driven approach to contracts, torts and other staples. Lawyers already in practice can choose among a wide range of LL.M. and certificate programs or design an individualized course of study to suit their particular needs.

Students looking for more will find joint programs combining the J.D. and LL.M. degrees — and opportunities to pursue another advanced degree at Georgetown in foreign service, government or public policy. For practical experience, Georgetown Law’s top-ranked clinical and public interest programs offer plenty of opportunities to serve clients. And if Washington, D.C., isn’t big enough, our transnational programs offer numerous opportunities abroad for an unrivaled global legal experience.
