Language Center
Do your goals during your LL.M. include improving your conversational English or writing a paper in English? The Language Center offers non-credit conversation groups and writing workshops taught by a linguist-lawyer team to complement your law classes.
We offers two separate programs. The English in Context conversation groups give you a forum for practicing your oral communication skills. The Writing Workshop writing groups can assist you with enhancing your writing skills. Both programs are designed to foster a supportive, collegial, and rigorous small group environment.
English in Context Conversation Groups
The conversation groups meet for an hour each week for eight weeks beginning after Add/Drop. During these sessions you will work on enhancing your comprehension and use of English in the U.S. context. You will receive individual feedback on all areas of language usage.
Writing Workshop Series
The writing workshops are a series of eight non-credit sessions that meet for one hour each week beginning after Add/Drop. Each week you will work on your memo or seminar paper topic focusing on a specific step in the academic writing process.
