Program Information and Admissions Requirements

Georgetown Law offers four joint JD/LL.M. degrees that enable Georgetown JD students to earn an LL.M. degree in one rather than two full-time semesters after completion of the JD degree. They are:

Georgetown JD students apply for one of these programs at the end of their 2L or 3E year.  Applications must be submitted between May 1 and June 30 of the 2L/3E year. 

Current Georgetown 3L/4E students may apply to the National Security joint degree program by March 1, 2011.

Application Checklist

Please be aware that the Graduate Admissions Committee does not review applications until we have received all required documentation. Applicants are encouraged to keep a copy of their completed application and supporting documents, as all application materials become the property of Georgetown and will not be returned.

Students from other Law Schools

The JD/LL.M. degree in Taxation is open to JD students at other ABA-accredited law schools who plan to attend Georgetown as Visiting Students during their third year of law school. If you are interested in applying as a visitor to the JD/LL.M., please follow the instructions on the web page for Visiting Students. Visitors may not apply for the JD/LLM Securities, National Security Law or International Business & Economic Law programs.
