The Wikimedia Foundation, the non-profit organization that hosts Wikipedia, is the lead plaintiff in a recent federal lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the NSA's "Upstream" mass surveillance program.* The Office of Alumni Affairs is proud to present an evening with General Counsel Geoff Brigham (L'84). Join us for a friendly discussion and exchange of ideas on the goals of the lawsuit, privacy on the internet, and the future of free knowledge online.
Special thanks to Patrick Gunn and our alumni at Cooley LLP for hosting. Cooley LLP is outside counsel to the Wikimedia Foundation on litigation, privacy and First Amendment matters.
*Wikimedia v. NSA. The Wikimedia Foundation is represented by the American Civil Liberties Union in the litigation.
