Alumni Admissions Interview Program
During the 2007-2008 admissions cycle, for the first time ever, Georgetown Law alumni interviewed a certain percentage of the law school's applicants in an attempt to personalize the Law Center's admissions process and recruit the best possible students for the Law Center. By creating an interview program here at the Law Center, where we receive more applications than any other law school, our goal was to gain valuable input from alumni interviewers in helping us to shape the incoming class, as well as make the process feel more individual and personal.
It is hard to believe just five years ago when we launched the Alumni Admissions Interview Program, we recruited 215 alumni to interview 435 applicants. Since that time, the program has grown to 706 alumni and conducted 1027 interviews during the 2011-2012 admissions cycle. Interviews were conducted in 36 states, the District of Columbia and 15 foreign countries. The information gathered through each alumnus interview has been incredibly helpful to the Office of Admissions' assessment of thousands of terrifically talented applicants.
