3L: It's a Wrap

By Ann W. Parks

After surviving years of exams, clinics, job interviews and plenty of course work, the Class of 2009 has finally arrived. In the fall of 2006, Georgetown Law launched the first of a three-part series tracking a small group of 1Ls as they made their way through the complex, challenging and sometimes confusing maze that is law school. Nearly three years later, the same students who were once figuring out what to do with their legal lives now know where they’re headed and have the tools they need to get there. Though they can still appreciate the advantages of being a student — “it’s the best job you could possibly have,” says one — they are ready to take on the world. They know how to find the answers and help the clients who will one day come to them for advice. And they appreciate, too, the value of their Georgetown Law degree — both for their future careers and for those Law Center ties they will maintain for many years to come.
