T  O      T  H  E      R  E  A  D  E  R Those of you who have been readers of this magazine for long will notice that its coverage of faculty scholarship, alumni achievements, and other Law Center news has grown steadily. Changes to the magazine will doubtless continue as the Law Center’s dynamic evolution continues. That evolution shows not only in the imminent completion of the campus construction, pictured below, but in the robust scholarship of our faculty, a survey of which we are proud to offer in this issue’s revived (and largest ever) Faculty Briefs section – a section we plan to publish annually henceforth. Other changes making their debut with this issue: we’ve reorganized the contents; we’re publish- ing the entire magazine in full color; and, whereas only a selected portion of the magazine appeared online before now, we’re putting this and all future issues entirely online, available as a link from the “News, Events & Publications” page at the Law Center’s recently redesigned Web site: www.law.georgetown.edu/ There you can enjoy our much-expanded reporting of Law Center news via the press releases and other Law Center stories now being produced regularly by our new media relations director, Elissa Free, who joins us after 20 years of work on the front lines of journalism at CNN, where she was a reporter, editor, producer, and most recently newsroom manager. The releases, the magazine, and other good content are being managed by our new webmaster, Sophia Pryce. She joins communications assistant Tia Roebuck; our new writer, Greg Langlois, who is also a first-year student at the Law Center; and our new editor, David Todd, a former trial lawyer who later turned to journalism and who has written and edited for many venues, including Amherst College, the Atlantic Monthly, and the Yale Review. We are excited to implement these changes to enhance our presentation of Law Center news in print and online. We hope that you’ll enjoy this combined issue for Fall / Winter 2003 and that you’ll agree it was worth the wait.We urge you to visit us on campus (come to the Alumni Welcoming Center, due to open in September), in print, or online, any time.
