Why do you volunteer as a Law Firm Challenge agent and donate to Georgetown Law?
Without the scholarship I received from Georgetown Law, I would not have been able to attend. If serving as an agent and donating can help students attend the Law Center who otherwise would be unable, it is certainly worth the time and effort involved.

What advice would you offer to agents with less experience, or alumni deciding whether or not to volunteer?
I would ask them to remember their time at the Law Center and how much it has helped them professionally and personally. I would then ask if they thought potential students should have the same opportunity they did. If the only way some students could have that opportunity was through financial aid, wouldn't they want to help that process?

What's your favorite memory of Georgetown Law?
I do not know that I can specify any one event, however, I will always remember the time I spent with the friends I made there.

How do you feel Georgetown Law prepared you for the legal profession?
The emphasis on critical thinking and writing skills helped prepare me for the legal profession.

    Clint Vince (L'74)
    Partner, Dentons - Washington, DC
Law Firm Challenge agent since 2010

Why do you volunteer as a Law Firm Challenge agent and donate to Georgetown Law?
I recognize that tuition does not cover the full cost of a student's education. I was blessed with the opportunity to receive my J.D. from Georgetown and am dedicated to assisting others, particularly those who are financially challenged, so that they may have a similar experience.

What advice would you offer to agents with less experience, or alumni deciding whether or not to volunteer?
My advice is to recruit a few teammates within the firm to assist. When I did this at Dentons, with Guly Sabahi (L'02) and Darry Sragow (L'82), our results improved. I also suggest persistence, patience, and acceptance of the simple fact that there is plenty of room for improvement.

What's your favorite memory of Georgetown Law?
My favorite memory is not an isolated event, but a recognition of the spectacular friendships that I made with other law students. Many of them remain my closest friends to this day.

How do you feel Georgetown Law prepared you for the legal profession?
Georgetown Law provided me with an excellent foundation for the legal profession. One advantage the school has is the number of adjunct professors with practical experience and proficiency in the subjects being taught. Another is its location in Washington, D.C., being in close proximity to many of the government agencies, courts, and law firms.
