National White Collar Crime Mock Trial Invitational ruler

The 2009 tournament united an unprecedented twenty teams from law schools across the country to compete in United States of America v. Sydney Jackson, a trial involving a governmental worker, Sydney Jackson, accused of making false statements by allegedly failing to disclose his religious name, Amir Mohammed. The judges, members of DC's legal community that included judges, professors, and practitioners from local firms, the US Attorney's office, the DC Attorney General's office, and the Department of Justice were consistently impressed by the quality of advocacy.

Barry University prevailed over Fordham University in the finals.

Florida Coastal School of Law, Southern Methodist University, George Washington University, University of Texas, Emory University, and South Texas were the other semi-finalists, compiling impressive records in the preliminary rounds.

Congratulations to all of the teams on their hard work and successful competition.
