Barristers' Qualifying Competition

Georgetown-Hosted Competition

The Trial Advocacy division of the Barristers' Council runs the Law Center's mock trial program. One competition is organized a year. Held each spring, the William H. Greenhalgh Competition is open to all Georgetown Law's non-graduating JD students. Competitors are asked to prepare a case based on a closed packet and then argue their side to mock judge and jury. Those who advance to a certain level are invited to join the Barristers' Council and represent Georgetown Law in a national mock trial competition. Finalists argue before a prominent member of the local or federal bench.

The Barristers' Council is also the proud host of the National White Collar Crime Mock Trial Invitational. This competition is the only interscholastic mock trial competition in the nation about white collar cases.
