Meet Your Summer Resident Advisors
Meet your 2016 Summer Resident Advisors!:
Brittany is a proud native of New Jersey. She attended American University and graduated in 2011 with a BA in Political Science and CLEG (Communications, Law, Economics, and Government). She interned in numerous places all around DC before working full time after graduation for Congressman Leonard Lance from NJ. She next joined the Peace Corps, and spent 27 months teaching English in rural Costa Rica. Because of this, you will generally find Brittany indoors this summer wherever there is air conditioning. This summer Brittany will be interning for FairVote, an organization working in election law, and playing softball on the Mall...whenever the weather isn't TOO hot. She's looking forward to meeting all of you and helping to ensure you have a great summer in DC!
Maha was born and raised in Geneva, Switzerland to parents of Pakistani origin. She attended the International School of Geneva after which she moved to London to complete her LLB (Hons) from Queen Mary University of London. She has studied in three different countries - including the United States where she undertook an LL.M. at Georgetown Law – and speaks multiple languages fluently: English, French, Urdu, Hindi and is conversational in Spanish. Maha loves to travel and has visited more than 20 countries. Fascinated by cultures and especially weddings, she hopes to be able to attend all of her friend’s weddings in different parts of the world. She plans on starting her own Pakistani fashion couture line in a few years. She welcomes you to Georgetown!
Nathalie is originally from Sweden, but has lived in the US (mostly in the south) for several years now. She graduated from Jacksonville State University with a B.A. in Political Science. Prior to coming to Georgetown, she worked as a legal assistant at a law firm in Atlanta which sparked her interest for the legal field. She enjoys cooking, traveling, and live music. She is excited about spending her first summer here in DC while working at the General Counsel for the DC Public Schools.
Shannon is from Newbury Park, a town nestled in California’s Santa Monica mountain range, and if you stand still long enough she will gladly explain exactly why it is objectively the best place on Earth. She graduated with degrees in Philosophy and Political Science from the University of Southern California, then promptly went to live in a monastery in southern France, which just happens to objectively be the second best place on Earth. She is working this summer as a research assistant with Georgetown’s Harrison Institute and will be spending her free time learning Ancient Greek (because why not) and exploring DC’s many parks and hiking trails. She is always looking for fellow explorers, so feel free to join in!Shannon’s experiences in Europe inspired her to fight against international human rights violations. She has just completed her first year at Georgetown, where she is part of the Catholic Student Association and participated with IRAP, the International Refugee Assistance Project.
Silas is a proud native Pawtucket, Rhode Island, where their claim to fame is the longest baseball game ever played (33 innings)! He is also a proud Liberian. He received his Bachelors of Science at American International College (Go YellowJackets!). During undergrad he was a slight overachiever: played Football & Rugby, worked in Res-Life, and served as Student Government President. He transferred to Georgetown Law this spring after completing his first year at his previous law school. He worked full time in finance and attended evening classes during his first year. He spent last summer as a judicial intern for Justice Fernande Duffly on the Massachusetts Supreme Court. In his spare time you can catch him in the fitness center working out or in his room binge watching my favorite Netflix series. He looks forward to meeting everyone this summer!
