Default Tabs in Courseware
There are eight default tabs on a Courseware site.
- The Announcements Tab
Announcements of general interest to your class can be posted on this tab, such as class schedule changes, assignment deadlines, items of special interest, etc. - The Documents Tab
Microsoft Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint slides and PDF files can be posted on this tab. Posted documents are listed as links and are available for opening or downloading. The files are organized in folders. You can also setup folders so that students can post assignments in them. - The Discussion Tab
Threaded messages are available on this tab. Threaded messages are displayed in list format, organized by forums. (On this tab, folders are called forums.) Courseware managers can monitor and add to these discussions. - The Links Tab
Links to other web sites with pertinent information to your class, such as journals, government commissions or federal organizations, can be posted on this tab. - The Pictures Tab
Images can be posted on this tab. - The Research Tab
Links to Westlaw, Lexis and the Law Library are located on this tab. You can also add specific databases and research guides to this tab. - The Help Tab
Basic Courseware support can be found on this tab. - The Manage Tab
Settings that affect the entire site, such as a Users page, photo course rosters, bulk file hiding, a recycle bin and other management tools are available on this tab. It is only accessible to site managers (faculty), not to users (students).
