Folder and Forum Management Buttons
When you open a folder, you will find various management buttons. These buttons are only visible to site managers (faculty), not to users (students).
- The Folder Settings Button
Use this button to edit a folder's properties, including its title, who has permission to add items to it, and its availability to users. - The Add Item Button
Use this button to add a new announcement, file, link, or image to a folder. This button is not available on the Discussion or the Research tabs. - The Delete Folder Button
Use this button to delete a folder. Folders that you delete (as well as the items that they contain) will be moved to the site's Recycle Bin, from where they can be recovered. - The Sort Button
Use this button to sort the items in a folder. This button is not available on the Announcements tab or the Discussion tab, as those items are sorted chronologically. - The Page Preview Button
Use this button to see what the folder will look like to your users. The folder will appear without its management buttons and without any hidden items.
When you open a forum on the Discussion tab, you will find four management buttons. They, too, are only visible to site managers, not users.
- The Forum Settings Button
Use this button to edit a forum's properties, including its title, who has permission to post messages, and its availability to users. - The Post Button
Use this button to post a message to a forum. - The Delete Forum Button
Use this button to delete a forum. Forums that you delete (as well as the postings that they contain) will be moved to the site's Recycle Bin, from where they can be recovered. - The Page Preview Button
Use this button to see what the forum will look like to your users. The forum will appear without its management buttons and without any hidden items.
