Early Interview Week (EIW)
EIW is one of the largest on-campus interviewing programs in the country, with over 400 employers from 100+ cities. Interviews occur the week before the fall semester begins, usually the last week of August.
Regional Interview Programs
Regional Interview Programs enable students to target and meet with employers in specific cities. Students travel to the regional program at their own expense, and are able to concentrate their efforts in cities in which they clearly intend to practice law. These programs provide opportunities for students to interview with employers during the month of September in Chicago (at the Embassy Suites Chicago Downtown, 600 N. State Street), Dallas (at the The Magnolia Hotel, 1401 Commerce Street), and Los Angeles (at the Millennium Biltmore, 506 South Grand Ave.). As with other on-campus recruitment programs, all bidding and interview scheduling will be done via our Symplicity database.
Government Interview Program (GIP)
OPICS coordinates this annual fall interviewing program, which brings over 30 government agencies to campus to interview for paid summer and permanent positions.
New Hampshire Legal Job Fair
Hosted by Franklin Pierce Law Center, the New Hampshire Legal Job Fair brings together approximately 20 New England based legal employers to interview students from nearly 40 law schools. This program is runs on a 'pre-selection' system instead of a lottery based system. Students submit required materials to OCS by late August and are notified of awarded interviews during the first two weeks of September. The New Hampshire Legal Job Fair is usually held in the third week of September in Bedford, New Hampshire. As with other regional programs, students travel to New Hampshire at their own expense.
IMPACT – Career Fair for Law Students and Attorneys with Disabilities
In August, we hold an annual IMPACT Career Fair for law students with disabilities. The Fair is co-hosted with the University of Arizona Rogers College of Law, and law students from across the nation are invited to attend.
International Internship Program
The demand for young lawyers with international experience grows every year and Georgetown Law has excelled in helping to fill this need by providing the opportunity for students to work abroad for a summer through its International Internship Program. This program usually takes place within the month of January although there is a "early deadline" option in December.
Job Listings Database
Although this is not a recruitment program per se, each year thousands of job listings are sent to OCS and OPICS and are included in our job listings database, housed on Symplicity. Students may search for academic year, summer or permanent post-graduate employment. Listings are available for students, recent graduates and experienced alums.
Diversity Job Fairs
Georgetown Law participates in approximately 25 diversity job fairs held throughout the U.S. Locations/registration deadlines vary, though most fairs occur in early fall.
Patent Law Interview Program
Administered by Loyola University Chicago School of Law, The Patent Law Interview Program brings together over 1,500 students from around the country to interview with approximately 150 patent law employers. This is one of the few 'pre-screened' interview programs that the Law Center participates in. It is usually held in early August near the O'Hare Airport in Chicago, IL and as in the GRIP's, students incur all registration, travel and boarding expenses.
Georgetown/GW Public Sector Recruiting Program
Sponsored jointly by Georgetown Law and George Washington University Law School , this program allows students to interview with public interest and government employers primarily from the Washington , DC area. It is held annually in the spring.
Request for Resumes (RFR) Program
This program connects Georgetown Law students with employers (mostly in the private sector) nationwide that do not take part in a formal interviewing program. Students either upload their resumes onto Symplicity or drop their resumes in an employer's folder in OCS and OCS sends the resumes to each employer. Most of the resume collections through this program occur in the early fall semester although others take place throughout the year as well.
September Interview Program (SIP)
Throughout September, smaller, medium-size, and a few large law firms as well as select government agencies and public interest organizations visit campus to interview Georgetown Law students for summer and permanent positions.
Spring Job Fair Interview Program
The Spring Job Fair provides Law Center students with the opportunity to interview with small and medium firms for summer and associate positions starting the following fall. This is one of Georgetown Law's few 'pre-screened' programs.
