For the next several weeks, in anticipation of the upcoming 1L Law Firm Receptions on March 18 and 25, Hoya Headlines will profile some of the participants in blog posts provided by these firms. The next profile is of Clifford Chance, who will be on-campus at the reception on March 18 from 6-8 p.m. in the Sport & Fitness Lobby.
With 36 offices in 26 countries, Clifford Chance offers law students the opportunity to join a major US global law firm. Combining a full-service New York office with outstanding resources in the Americas, Europe, Asia Pacific and the Middle Eastern makes us uniquely qualified to handle complex domestic and cross-border transactions, disputes and investigations.
Our summer law clerks are encouraged to work on a wide variety of assignments, gaining exposure to the full range of our practice areas, including Banking & Finance, Capital Markets, Corporate/M&A, Litigation, Real Estate, and Tax, Pensions & Employment. They benefit from partner advisors and associate mentors and are involved in weekly luncheons, regular practice group meetings and in-house and external training seminars on topics such as corporate transactions and negotiation skills. In addition, virtually all of our 2L summer law clerks have the opportunity to spend three weeks working in one of our international offices to gain a first-hand understanding of how truly global Clifford Chance is.
We believe in giving our lawyers a high level of exposure and responsibility from the outset, while helping them develop the technical and business skills necessary to become well-rounded professionals. Clifford Chance lawyers have diverse backgrounds and cultures, but share a common characteristic -- they enjoy working in teams and building long-lasting professional and personal relationships.
