Georgetown Entertainment and Media Alliance Spring Break Externship – November 11th deadline

The GEMA Externship Program is a unique opportunity for undergraduate seniors, MBA, Law and all other students enrolled in a graduate program at Georgetown. The externship allows students to spend time with experienced professionals in entertainment and media, and get a firsthand look at day-to-day operations in the industry. Specifically, students will attend a number of individual or group meetings (ie, “informational interviews”) with professionals representing a broad spectrum of experiences within the industry in New York or Los Angeles.

10th Annual GEMA Alumni Panel: Careers in Entertainment and Media

Join the Georgetown Entertainment and Media Alliance on Main Campus on Wednesday, October 19^th from 6-8pm (Alumni House, 36^th and O Streets, NW). 

GEMA's 10th Annual Spotlight Career Panel, co-hosted by the Career Education Center, brings together alumni in entertainment professions in business, law, sports, media and content development to discuss their careers, answer questions and offer tips on how to break into their respective industries.  

This year's panelists include:   

• Marcel Arsenault (C'07), Producer, Sharp Entertainment;  
• Messai Gessesse (L'04), Director, Business & Legal Affairs, TV One;  
• Amber Harris (MSB'02), Director, Social Media, Discovery Communications  
• Charlie Prince (C'00) is the Executive Director of both the Lighthouse International Film Festival and the Friar's Club Comedy Film Festival. He is also an entertainment lawyer for Grubman Indursky & Shire.  
• Jody Arlington (C'93), Co-Founder of the Impact Arts + Film Fund and PR Manager, SILVERDOCS will serve as panel moderator.

The German office of McKinsey & Company, a management consulting firm, will be visiting Georgetown University for an open information session on October 3, 2011, from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m., in the Executive Conference Room, Intercultural Center (Main Campus).  McKinsey is looking for undergraduates, graduates and post-graduates of all fields of study (e.g., economics, medicine, law, arts, etc.) that are interested in the work of and the career opportunities at McKinsey Germany.
