Phi Alpha Delta invites you to attend "Building a Professional Wardrobe" on April 9th at 4:00 PM in room MCD 110.

They will be having representatives from Brooks Brothers talk about the main staples of clothing all young lawyers need to work in a professional legal environment.  They'll also be offering advice on which styles work best on different shapes/body types.  

Chick-fil-a will be served.  Brooks Brothers will also be giving out prizes and other giveaways to participants!

The Student Intellectual Property Law Association (SIPLA) is hosting a luncheon on Wednesday, April 4th from 12pm-1pm in Hotung 2000, featuring career consultant Kate Patterson from DavisPatterson Consulting.  Ms. Patterson has specialized in recruiting and consulting services exclusively for intellectual property attorneys since 1980.  Ms. Patterson will provide students with advice on how to approach law firm recruiting, career worksheets, as well as "Quickie List" of employers for the several regions of the country.  Please contact Aaron Resetarits at adr49@law.georgetown.edu for more information.

Corporate Law Association's Alternative Career Symposium - Tues., 4/3 at 6pm

The Fifth Annual GEMALaw Sports & Entertainment Law Symposium will be held on Friday, March 30, 2012 on the Georgetown Law campus.

This year's Symposium will feature two panels: First, "The Future of Music Consumption," a discussion of how the new ways in which people are able to obtain and listen to music should inform the structure of intellectual property law moving forward, and second "#2012: Politics, Social Media, & the Upcoming Election," a look at the legal implications surrounding the emergence of blogs and social media and the impact that they have had, and are currently having, on the presidential election. GEMALaw will be presenting the 2011-2012 GEMALaw Alumni Achievement Award to James Duff (L'81), President and Chief Executive Officer, Freedom Forum and Chief Executive Officer, Newseum and Diversity Institute.

Mergers and acquisitions grab headlines, remake whole industries and can shape a company's fortunes for years to come.
