Category: Early Interview Week (EIW)
The webcast videos from this week's EIW Interview Workshop and the EIW Orientation are now available on the Careers website, on the Webcast and Video Library page. If you weren't able to attend either program in person, please watch these videos online to learn valuable information about EIW and interviewing.
The Summer Associate Mentorship Program enables students who are seeking summer associate positions to connect with Georgetown Law students who have themselves been summer associates. The listed students have agreed to be contacted if you would like advice regarding your law firm interview and callback process.
You can reach out to these students if you would like advice on callback interviews, regional markets, and deciding between law firms. However, please do not ask the below students to help you obtain a summer associate position at their firms. Please note that the below list represents a subset of the total number of firms where GULC students are currently working as summer associates. Many legal markets and law firms that are currently employing our students are not represented on this list.
Click on the headline above for the list of mentors.
There are still open slots available for Early Interview Week. You have until 12:00 noon Saturday, August 10th to grab extra interviews.
One way to make a bad first impression is to mispronounce a law firm’s name! To make sure you know the correct pronunciations of the firms you may be interviewing with, check our Law Firm Pronunciation Guide before EIW begins.
As a reminder, the deadline to cancel any EIW interviews is TOMORROW, Saturday August 10 at NOON. To cancel an interview prior to the EIW Interview Cancellation Deadline, log into Symplicity and go to your interviews under the OCI tab (select the “2013 Early Interview Week” session). Click on the underlined interview date listed to the right of the employer you are scheduled with. When the schedule details come up, click on the "Cancel Interview" button. Your interview will be unscheduled and officially canceled. After this deadline, no further cancellations can be made. If there is an extenuating circumstance, please contact a career counselor or OCS Recruitment staff member as soon as possible.
You are expected to attend all interviews for which you are scheduled unless you follow the procedures set forth above to cancel your interview.
OCS will be hosting one final Interview Workshop to help with preparation for Early Interview Week on Wednesday, August 7 at 6:00 p.m. in McDonough 202. Participants in the workshop will learn what to expect at the interview, how to effectively research and prepare and will receive expert advice on how to answer difficult questions. We strongly encourage those students who have not attended one of our previous workshops in New York and DC to attend. This program will be taped for people who are outside of DC and unable to come.
