1L FAQ: Now that I have received my first semester grades, should I include them on my resume? If so, how?
The general rule of thumb is that if your GPA is below a 3.0, you should not
include it on your resume. However, this is something that you may want
to discuss on a case-by-case issue with your career counselor.
If your GPA is above a 3.0, you typically should include that on your resume, as demonstrated below:
Georgetown University Law Center, Washington, DC
Juris Doctor, expected May 2015
GPA: x.xx
Please note that you may NOT round your GPA up or down.
See here for information on how to send an unofficial version of your transcript to employers.
