OTIP Reminder - Alternate Candidate Scheduling Begins Today

Alternate interview scheduling for the Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles and San Francisco On Tour Interview Programs begins today at 12:00 pm EDT. If you were selected as an alternate candidate for any of the OTIP programs, please log into the On Tour Symplicity site between today at 12:00 noon and July 20th at 6:00 pm EDT to view and sign up for any open interview slots. If the alternate button is not clickable, keep checking during the alternate scheduling period, as slots may open up at any time. If the the alternate button is clickable, that means a slot is available and you can click on "Accept Alternate" to view what slot is open and sign up for it if you are interested. This only applies if you were selected as an alternate candidate. Please note, all interviews take place in the city for which they are named and students are required to travel at their own expense. Please keep this in mind when deciding to accept an interview. For questions, email the OCS Recruitment Team.

OTIP Reminder: Preselect Interview Accept/Decline Deadline is July 16!

Just a reminder that the OTIP interview scheduling for Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles and San Francisco preselected candidates is now open in the On Tour Symplicity website. The scheduling deadline is 6:00 pm EDT on July 16 - this coming Monday. Interviews for Chicago OTIP have already been assigned and students may choose to keep or decline/cancel their interviews prior to the July 16 scheduling deadline.

Alternate scheduling will begin at 12:00 pm EDT on July 17 and will close at 6:00 pm EDT on July 20.

Please make sure to arrange your travel plans to and from any OTIP cities around your interview schedule. Staying organized will help ensure that you have a successful interview experience.

IMPACT Career Fair for Law Students and Attorney’s with Disabilities

OTIP UPDATE: Two More Employers Added to the Los Angeles On Tour Interview Program

Orrick Herrington Sutcliff and O'Melveny & Myers have just registered for the Los Angeles On Tour Interview Program on Friday, August 3.

A new session has been created in the On Tour Symplicity site for these two employers, (go to OCI and select “OTIP – Los Angeles – Orrick Herrington and O’Melveny”), and bidding is open until tomorrow, Thursday, July 12 at 9:00 AM EDT.

Students will be notified if they have been preselected by Friday, July 13, at 12:00 EDT.

"Developing an OCI Game Plan" - Useful Article for Rising 2Ls Focusing on the NY Legal Market

If you are bidding on employers for EIW, you may want to check out this article, “Developing an OCI Game Plan,” from the New York Law Journal.  The article aims to educate rising 2L law students as they begin the on-campus interview (OCI) process on the practice areas they should consider when looking at law firms and the questions they should ask in order to make informed decisions. The article provides an overview of various practices in the New York legal community. It also gives a sense of what types of matters a junior lawyer might work on in those practices and what types of people might be best suited for the work. Beyond the practice overview, it suggests the best resources for researching the various categories and types of law firms, and provides targeted questions every first-year law student should consider when analyzing firms. 

On Tour Interview Program - Preselect Interview Scheduling Now Open

Employers have entered their candidate selections for the On Tour Interview Programs taking place in Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Interview scheduling for Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles and San Francisco is now open for preselected candidates and will run through July 16 at 6:00 pm EDT.

Please note that the Chicago OTIP is a "walk-around" program in which interviews take place in the law firms' offices. Therefore, interview times have already been assigned to preselected candidates

EIW UPDATE: New Employer Added – Hewlett-Packard Co. (recruiting 3Ls/4Es)

Hewlett-Packard Co. has just registered for EIW for their Plano, TX and Palo Alto, CA offices. They are interviewing 3Ls/4Es on August 16 for first-year attorney positions in 2013. They have specific hiring guidelines and practice areas that they are interviewing for, so any 3L or 4E interested in bidding should pay careful attention to the criteria and information listed below.
