If you are a 1L or 2L spending the summer at a law firm this year, you won’t want to miss OCS's annual How to Succeed as a Summer Associate program on Wednesday, April 11 at 3:30 p.m. in Gewirz 12. In addition to hearing from a panel of recruiting professionals about what it takes to get that coveted offer at the end of the summer, you will have the chance to meet 3Ls who spent last summer at a firm and learn about their experiences.
The panelists, who have seen it all when it comes to summer associate programs, include: Tim Lloyd (Hiring Partner at Hogan Lovells in Washington, DC); Jacquelyn Stone (Former Hiring Partner at McGuire Woods in Richmond); and Dyana Barninger (Legal Recruitment & Development Regional Manager at K&L Gates in Washington, DC).

Phi Alpha Delta invites you to attend "Building a Professional Wardrobe" on April 9th at 4:00 PM in room MCD 110.
They will be having representatives from Brooks Brothers talk about the main staples of clothing all young lawyers need to work in a professional legal environment. They'll also be offering advice on which styles work best on different shapes/body types.

Please join us for the fifth and final session of The Search Before the Search (SBTS) program, which will be held on Friday, March 16 from 11:30 am to 12:45 pm and Monday, March 26, from 3:30 to 4:45 pm. This session will take place in a small-group format (please register for only one of the two dates) and is titled “Professionalism: Strategies for Success, this Summer and Beyond.” Counselors from the Office of Career Services and the Office of Public Interest and Community Service will facilitate the discussion a range of issues related to judgment and problem-solving at work, setting professional boundaries and work-life balance, how to make the most of your summer job, and challenging moments in the workplace. As always, you need not have participated in the earlier SBTS sessions to benefit from this one.
