We have updated the state court clerkship 2012-2013 vacancy information for DC Superior Court and one 2013-2014 vacancy for the DC Court of Appeals. They are available online at http://www.law.georgetown.edu/career/clerkships/resources.cfm under “Clerkship Vacancies.” Clicking on a court’s link will provide not only a list of which judges are hiring, but also the required application materials. Mailing information for these judges can be found on Symplicity under the Clerkships tab.

Interested in learning about the federal court clerkship experience firsthand from Georgetown Law graduates in an informal setting? Don't miss the Federal & State Court Clerkship Meet and Greet - an informative and engaging meet and greet with graduates who have or are currently clerking with trial and appellate level courts.
The event will be held on April 4th from 6-8pm, in the Office of Career Services (McDonough 328). This is your chance to ask questions a range of alumni about how to navigate the clerkship application process, what trial and appellate clerkships are like, and the many interesting career paths to which they lead. Chief Judge Christine M. Durham of the Utah Supreme Court is accepting clerkship applications for the 2012-2013 term. Interested students should send a cover letter, resume, transcript, writing sample, and two or three letters of recommendation to the Judge directly. The Washington Bar Association Young Lawyers Division invites you to join them for “Tips from the Bench: Becoming a Judge” on Tuesday, January 17th at 6:30pm at the law office of The DGO Law Group, PLLC (1425 K Street, NW, Suite 350). This panel discussion on the process of becoming a judge in the federal and state courts and agencies in the District of Columbia will cover the various components of the District of Columbia judicial branch, the role of administrative judges in federal agencies and share their personal journeys to become judges and why they pursued a career in the judiciary.
