Winter Break Law Firm Receptions

Several law firms listed have notified OCS that they are hosting receptions during the winter break.  The purpose of these receptions is for the law firms to introduce themselves and get to know you for the future - it does not necessarily mean they intend to hire any 1Ls for their 2010 summer class.  You should view these receptions as networking opportunities, and take advantage of any that are of interest to you.

Applying for Judicial Internships

Thinking of applying to judges for spring or summer internships?  Many if not most judges will take students as volunteer interns (note that externship credit may be available for semester externships and EJF funding may be available for summer internships).  The more in demand the position is likely to be the sooner it makes sense to apply (think about location, level of judge and court).  Use Symplicity to create a mail merge for judicial internship applications and to locate alumni who have clerked.

OCS Winter Hours

The Office of Career Services follows the Law Center calendar and will be closed on the following days:  December 24 - 31 and January 1.  On the remaining business days between Monday, December 7 and Friday, January 15, the office will be open from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.  There will be no scheduled walk-in hours, but advisors will be available for individual appointments and will frequently be able to take walk-in questions.
