Students Helping Students is an opportunity to speak informally with over 40 2L
and 3L students about their legal internships in a variety of settings.  Participating students have worked as Federal, State and Local Government Interns, Non Profit Interns, Georgetown Research Assistants, Law Clerks for Small and Large Law Firms, Capitol Hill Interns, International Internship participants, etc.

Peggy Browning Fund: 44 Summer Labor/Workers' Rights Internships

The Peggy Browning Fund announces the Summer 2011 Law Student Fellowship.  The Peggy Browning Fund is a nonprofit corporation established in memory of Margaret A. Browning, a prominent labor attorney and member of the National Labor Relations Board. President Clinton appointed Peggy to the NLRB in 1994, and she served in that position until her death in February, 1997.

The Fund's mission is to provide law students with diverse, challenging work and educational experiences in the area of workers' rights. Such unique and positive opportunities will both increase students' understanding of workers' needs as well as promote their entry into the practice of public interest labor law.

The Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) is one of the Department’s two internal investigative units. OPR investigates allegations of misconduct against Department attorneys relating to the exercise of their authority to investigate, litigate or provide legal advice. OPR also investigates allegations of misconduct by law enforcement personnel when they are related to allegations of misconduct by Department attorneys. Following its investigations, OPR reports its findings and conclusions to the Deputy Attorney General or other appropriate officials.

Brooklyn Legal Services Corporation A, a neighborhood-based legal services program with deep community connections, is recruiting interns for the summer of 2011 for its offices located in Williamsburg, East New York and Bushwick.  Student interns work closely with committed, experienced attorneys and perform an invaluable service, helping us provide high quality legal services in our offices.  So come join us for this hands-on experience in public interest law.  The intern gains experience in all phases of legal practice: 

Drafting papers, Interviewing clients, Participating in discovery (including depositions), Courtroom exposure, Research, both factual and legal.

Each intern is assigned an attorney and works in a specific area of practice.  The areas of practice available are:

Representation of Tenants Associations, Individual Housing Cases, Family Law, Foreclosure Prevention, Single Stop—Legal Services provided on site at community organizations, Unemployment Insurance Appeals, Community Economic Development

 Applicants should have strong research and writing skills, enjoys interacting with clients and commitment to public interest.

Spanish language skills are a great asset but not required.

20 Paid Summer Internships in FL: FL Bar Foundation

The Florida Bar Foundation is sponsoring the 2011 Legal Aid Summer Fellowship Program at legal aid
and legal services programs in Florida.   It is expected that approximately 20 full-time fellowships will be offered to first and second-year law students. The Legal Aid Summer Fellowship Program runs for a period of 11 weeks and is a full-time
position for the summer. Fellowship stipends are expected to be $5,500 for first-year students and
$7,000 for second-year students for the eleven week period
