The Office of Career Services, the Latin American Law Students Association, the Georgetown International Law Society, and the International Law Society, are hosting a conference on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 (3:30pm in Hotung 1000) on Investment Arbitration in Latin America.  The speaker list features partners from Chadbourne & Parke, Foley Hoag, and Arnold & Porter, and an associate from Freshfields.  All students are welcome to attend.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to practice law in California? Then you’ll want to attend OCS’s upcoming presentation on the California market by Amber Handman, a recruiter with SFB Search in Los Angeles. Her program will highlight the types of clients you might have, practices indigenous to the geographic market, hiring trends, what it’s like to live there and why you might want to practice there. The program will be at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday April 22 (Room TBD). Amber has also offered six 20 minute one-on-one appointments with students which will run from 1:20-3:20. These appointments will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, so if you would like to set up an appointment, please stop by the OCS front desk. If you hope to practice law in California, this is a program that can’t be missed!
