Off-Campus Event - The Practice of Congressional Investigations

Hot Job! Two RA’s Needed Immediately to Assist GULC Committee Evaluating Elena Kagan Nomination

The ABA has again asked GULC to be one of the two law schools advising it, as the ABA formulates its evaluation of Elena Kagan’s qualifications to serve on the Supreme Court. (The ABA submits a report to the Senate Judiciary Committee on its ranking of the candidate as well qualified, qualified, or unqualified, and relies on the law school reports in formulating its evaluation.) As in the past, the Dean created a Reading Committee of GULC faculty to review the nominee’s writings and to prepare a report to the ABA on the Committee’s findings.

Two research assistants are needed to assist the faculty members on the Reading Committee. Work will begin almost immediately. (A Committee meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 19, and there is some work that might usefully be done by RA’s in advance of that meeting.)
