Attention 3Ls/4Es: Deadline Approaching! Register for Taking Care of Business (TCB)

Click here to register for Taking Care of Business (TCB). This program is designed to help you develop a focus, keep you engaged, and overcome the obstacles you will encounter during your job search.  The program, designed like a class, will meet weekly beginning the week of September 13th.  Small group sessions (groups of no more than 8-10 students) will be led by OCS counselors and will work off a general curriculum to include a number of topics which will adapt to the needs and interests of the particular group of students. First come first served so act fast!  Registration deadline is 5pm on September 8th!!

Prepare for clerkship interviews by attending the Clerkship Interview Workshop on Thursday, September 2 at 12:00 P.M. in McDonough 203.  Emmy Berning, Tara Sarathy, and Katy Montgomery will discuss potential interview topics and strategies for preparing for interviews.  Clerkship interviews are often scheduled only a day or two in advance, leaving little time to get ready for an interview.  This interview workshop will give you the preparation you need to feel confident in answering even the most unexpected questions.

The Bureau of International Labor Affairs (ILAB), U.S. Department of Labor, is looking for a second or third year law student for a part-time paid internship during the fall semester of 2010, with the possibility of extension through spring 2011.  The position is located in ILAB’s Office of Trade and Labor Affairs, Trade Policy and Negotiations Division (TPN).  TPN assists in fulfilling the Department of Labor’s responsibilities with respect to the Executive Branch’s trade agenda, including participation in negotiating, implementing, enforcing, and promoting fundamental labor rights and standards in international trade and investment agreements and U.S. trade preference programs.  ILAB and TPN staff participate in the activities of international and intergovernmental organizations which are concerned with trade, international labor, and other international economic issues, and administer the program of the Labor Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Trade Negotiations.

Government Interview Program (GIP) Scheduling

At 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 31, students will be able to view whether they were selected as preselect or alternate candidates by the employers interviewing on the later dates of the Government Interview Program (GIP) (those dates other than September 1).  These include all employers that are part of the "2010 Government Interview Program" session.

Students who are designated as preselected must schedule interviews in Symplicity between 10:00 am tomorrow, Tuesday, August 31 and 6:00 pm on Thursday, September 2.  Alternates may schedule interviews between 10:00 am on Friday, September 3 and 6:00 pm on Tuesday, September 7, if spots are available. 

Please note that if you do not schedule an interview within the prescribed window, you forfeit that interview.
