2011 Loyola Patent Law Interview Program - Register by March 7th

Loyola University Chicago School of law is hosting the 2011 Patent Law Interview Program on Thursday, July 28 and Friday, July 29 in Chicago, Illinois.  This is a nationwide interview program that targets patent law employers, rising 2L and 3L students, and students in Intellectual Property LLM programs. 

Last year roughly 100 employers, 180 law schools, and 1,600 law students from across the country participated in the program.  The program is entirely pre-selected, which means that students submit resumes and bid on interviews with the employers they are interested in, and employers then review the resumes of the students who bid on them and select the students they wish to interview at the program.  Last year, approximately half of the participating students were selected for interviews.

Post Grad Fellowship Deadline Extended: Georgetown Law Immigration/Detention Fellowship, Houston, TX

Georgetown Law Immigration/Detention Law Fellowship Deadline extended through 2/25/11   

Fellowship description: 
The Fellowship is a two-year, post-graduate position sponsored by Georgetown Law and Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Galveston-Houston.  The Fellow will represent noncitizen adults and children seeking political asylum and other relief in Immigration Court removal proceedings. The Fellowship is an excellent opportunity to develop hands-on litigation skills and build contacts within immigration reform and civil rights communities on the local and national levels, while serving low-income immigrants with compelling needs. The Fellow will be an employee of the Cabrini Center for Immigrant Legal Assistance at Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Galveston-Houston in Houston, TX. The fellowship is open to Georgetown JD students graduating in 2011, and Georgetown law alumni with less than two years post-graduate experience.

Please join us for an engaging and informative panel on choosing criminal defense as a career, and hear from the following panelists:

General Counsel in the Office of the Chief Defense Counsel - Military Commissions

The speakers will discuss their decisions to work in the criminal defense field and will address the daily realities and challenges of defending clients in an adversarial criminal justice system. Attention 2L/3Es! Register for Taking Care of Business (TCB) Job Search “class”

Last year, the Office of Career Services debuted this new program for job seekers, and we are excited to offer it again this spring.  Taking Care of Business is designed to help you develop a focus, keep you engaged, and overcome the obstacles you will undoubtedly encounter during your job search. 

The program, designed like a class, will meet weekly for an hour over a three-week period beginning February 28th.  Please note that the class will not meet over Spring Break.  Small group sessions (groups of no more than 8-10 students) will be led by OCS counselors and will work off a general curriculum to include a number of topics which will adapt to the needs and interests of the particular group of students.
