DC Legal Aid Society is currently is recruiting for a Spring 2013 law student intern to work specifically in our Housing Law Unit. Law student interns assist our housing attorneys in representing clients in proceedings in D.C. Superior Court. Interns have the opportunity to interact with clients and may attend client meetings. Interns also have significant opportunities to observe court proceedings in the D.C. Superior Court Landlord and Tenant Branch. Assignments include legal research and writing, as well as factual investigation. Interns also participate in internal meetings and are responsible for some administrative duties.
Candidates must have a demonstrated interest in housing law and a passionate commitment to working with underserved individuals and communities. Spring term interns are expected to work a minimum of 12 hours per week throughout the semester.
