Rising 2L/3E Fall Recruiting Orientation – Monday, April 2 at 5:00 p.m. (Hart Auditorium)

Calling all 1Ls and 2Es!  Before you leave for the summer, OCS and OPICS are hosting a series of information sessions to prepare you for the upcoming Fall Recruitment season.  The first is an overview of the recruitment programs that we host and a discussion of how to think about your 2L summer position in the context of your overall career.  We strongly suggest that you attend this program, though it will be videotaped.

If you plan to participate in Early Interview Week (EIW), immediately following the Fall Recruiting Orientation (at 6:00 p.m.), OCS will conduct an information session that will address the specifics of participating in our EIW program.  In addition to learning about the resources to consult and strategies for constructing your bid list, you’ll learn about the nuts and bolts of the program itself including how to obtain additional interviews, how to work a hospitality suite and how to prepare for the interviews.  This program will also be videotaped.

The Fifth Annual GEMALaw Sports & Entertainment Law Symposium will be held on Friday, March 30, 2012 on the Georgetown Law campus.

This year's Symposium will feature two panels: First, "The Future of Music Consumption," a discussion of how the new ways in which people are able to obtain and listen to music should inform the structure of intellectual property law moving forward, and second "#2012: Politics, Social Media, & the Upcoming Election," a look at the legal implications surrounding the emergence of blogs and social media and the impact that they have had, and are currently having, on the presidential election. GEMALaw will be presenting the 2011-2012 GEMALaw Alumni Achievement Award to James Duff (L'81), President and Chief Executive Officer, Freedom Forum and Chief Executive Officer, Newseum and Diversity Institute.

Save the Date - Judicial Clerkship Meet & Greet - Wed., 4/4 from 6-8pm

Interested in learning about the federal court clerkship experience firsthand from Georgetown Law graduates in an informal setting? Don't miss the Federal & State Court Clerkship Meet and Greet - an informative and engaging meet and greet with graduates who have or are currently clerking with trial and appellate level courts.  

The event will be held on April 4th from 6-8pm, in the Office of Career Services (McDonough 328).  This is your chance to ask questions a range of alumni about how to navigate the clerkship application process, what trial and appellate clerkships are like, and the many interesting career paths to which they lead.
