The American Bar Association Section of Litigation invites DC area Law Students to talk to some of the nation’s top litigators about professional opportunities after graduation and learn more about what the ABA Section of Litigation has to offer at “Life after Law School” on Thursday, April 19, 2012 from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm at the JW Marriott - 1331 Pennsylvania Avenue NW (Room: Russell/Hart). Many of the regular OCS counselors, as well as some of the staff, will be attending the annual NALP Conference from Tuesday, April 17th through Friday, April 20th. The NALP conference is an excellent opportunity for OCS counselors to meet with employer representatives from across the country on your behalf, and is the premiere professional development opportunity for counselors.
The OCS office will be open Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm next week, and there will be counselors available in OCS and OPICS for in-person advising. Those counselors attending the conference will be checking e-mail and voicemail daily while at the conference.

As part of their annual conference, International Women's Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC) is sponsoring a Professional Meet & Greet for all Georgetown Law students interested in a career in bankruptcy on Thursday, April 19 at 1:30 p.m. in Gewirz 12. This will be a great opportunity for students to mix and mingle with bankruptcy professionals from around the country and learn more about the types of jobs available in this growing area of the law. If you’re interested in bankruptcy, you won’t want to miss this chance to network with some leading experts in the field!

Everything you wanted to know about how you can intern in the White House!
Wednesday, April 11, at 3:30 pm in McDonough 206
Join us for a discussion with White House Interns to learn about opportunities for law students in this prestigious national internship program. Speakers will include Georgetown Law graduate Todd Rubin, who interned in the Domestic Policy Council in Spring 2010; Georgetown Law student Tommy Tobin, who interned in the Domestic Policy Council in Summer 2011; and Cynthia Bernstein, a current intern in the Office of Management and Administration.
Topics include:
· What are some of the White House offices that would be of greatest interest to law students?
· Can the internship lead to a career at the White House afterwards?
· Is it possible for me to take classes and participate in the internship simultaneously?
· What public interest opportunities are out there for me after the program ends?
