Take Back Your Home Community Canvassing

Take Back Your Home (TBYH) uses community outreach and partnerships with legal services groups and housing counseling agencies to inform tenants and homeowners in Prince George’s County, MD of their legal rights, providing these individuals with resources to fight foreclosures and increase communication with banks. TBYH is designed to dramatically decrease the number of vacated, post-foreclosure properties in PG County by providing homeowners with information to help them negotiate with banks and avoid loan modification scams. Student volunteers are needed to reach out to homes in danger of foreclosure and inform homeowners of their legal rights.

When & Where:
TBYH has community canvasses scheduled for the following Saturdays: March 9, March 23, April 6 and April 20th. Canvassers meet at Georgetown Law School at 10am for a brief training in McDonough Room 160, and canvassing will begin immediately after.

How do I sign up?
You can sign up for the training and for canvassing using this google doc: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmaMnhzjPEFKdHl2b1R0azF0WTZaZ2d0cUhoa3JKZEE#gid=0. For questions or additional information, contact Nick Hartigan (nhartigan1@gmail.com) or Amy Gellatly (amygellatly@gmail.com).
