Hogar Immigrant Services Citizenship Workshops
HOGAR Immigrant Services, a program of Catholic Charities, works to help immigrants become self-sufficient and productive members of American society through bilingual outreach programs, including a continuum of networking, immigration legal services, citizenship classes, and English as a Second Language classes.
HOGAR seeks volunteers to assist with its Citizenship Workshops. Volunteers are trained to assist applicants for U.S. citizenship with filling out the requisite documents and preparing to submit their applications. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to shadow attorneys as they finalize the application and address corresponding legal issues (e.g. criminal records). Volunteers will be trained on the day of the citizenship workshops (immediately preceding the workshop).
When and where?
The next citizenship workshop are scheduled for Saturday, March 16th in Woodbridge, VA, and Saturday, April 20th in Arlington, VA.
