About Jim Michalowicz
Jim Michalowicz, a Director with ACT Litigation Services, counsels clients on creative solutions for managing electronic discovery and minimizing discovery risk and cost by building effective EDRM programs. Prior to joining ACT, James was a Senior Consultant with Altman Weil, Inc., where he specialized in corporate law department practice management, including cost reduction, risk reduction, performance metrics, records management and discovery management.
Jim is a member of the Georgetown University CLE Advisory Board supporting the e-Discovery Institute, and has been active in the Working Group on Electronic Document Retention and Production (“WG1”) since its formation, serving as an editor of The Sedona Guidelines: Best Practices for Managing Information & Records in the Digital World (2005). He testified before the US Judicial Conference, Advisory Committee on Civil Rules, Discovery Subcommittee in 2001 and 2005, offering suggestions for e-Discovery rules changes. He also serves on the boards for the Council on Litigation Management and BNA’s Digital Discovery and e-Evidence newsletter.
