After Roper v. Simmons

As part of the follow up to the Supreme court decision in Roper v. Simmons, the Georgetown University Law Center’s Juvenile Justice Clinic, the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, and the National Juvenile Defender Center sponsored a symposium on January 24, 2006. Experts from the Americas in the fields of juvenile justice, child development, and international law discussed how the Roper v. Simmons decision and its reference to international standards impacts juvenile client representation and the transfer of children to adult courts in the United States.
