Georgetown Law is conveniently located in the heart of Washington, DC. The proximity to the National Mall, Smithsonian museums, diverse neighborhoods and restaurants make it an exciting place to visit.

How do I get to Georgetown University Law Center?

For door-to-door directions, please use Google Maps, Mapquest, or Bing Maps.

Metro

The Law Center is most easily accessible by Metro. Take the Red Line to Union Station and exit onto Massachusetts Avenue NW. Turn right on Massachusetts Avenue NW and walk two blocks to the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and New Jersey Avenue NW. Cross Massachusetts and turn left on New Jersey Avenue NW. Stay to the right to continue on First Street NW. McDonough Hall will be the second building on your right. All visitors will be required to show identification and sign in with the Department of Public Safety Officer stationed at the lobby desk. Disabled visitors and guests utilizing wheel chairs are encouraged to use the F Street entrance to McDonough. To the right of the entrance is a yellow emergency box. Push the red help button and let the Public Safety Office know that you are here for a CLE program. To reach the Gewirz Student Center, continue past McDonough Hall to the Tower Green. The Gewirz Student Center is the tall building facing onto the Tower Green, across the lawn.

You may also take the Metro to Judiciary Square and walk three blocks on E Street NW to First Street NW. After making a left on First Street NW, the Gewirz Student Center will be on your left facing onto the Tower Green. McDonough Hall and the Williams Library will be on your left-hand side after you pass the Hotung International Law Building.

Commuter Train

Two suburban rail lines arrive and depart from Union Station, which is two blocks from the Law Center. These can serve as an alternative to the Metro or driving. The Virginia Railway Express (VRE) can be contacted at 1-800-743-3873 or on the web at http://www.vre.org. The Maryland Rail Commuter (MARC Train) can be reached at 1-800-325-7245 or on the web at http://www.mtamaryland.com.

What is the closest airport?

There are three airports that serve the Washington, DC area. Ronald Reagan National Airport is the closest, approximately 20 minutes from Washington, DC. The Baltimore Washington International and Dulles International Airports are approximately 45 minutes from Washington, DC.

Is parking available at Georgetown Law?

Due to limited amount of parking, we cannot provide parking for programs held at the Law Center. Disabled persons may make arrangements to park at the Law Center by calling (202) 662-9890. For full day programs, we encourage attendees to take the Metro or a taxi to the program. If you do drive, there are several public parking garages close to the Law Center.
