District Courts, the Federal Circuit, the Supreme Court, and Congress have been exploring ways of improving patent litigation through changes in pleading standards, demand letters, discovery, claim construction, expert witnesses, and fee shifting, among other issues.

11:15 am – 12:30 pm Panel 2: Building a Patent System that Works
The patent system can be an important driver of innovation, but systemic problems in how the system works, especially in high-tech industries, undermine that promise. This panel will identify root causes of those problems and discuss how to fix them.

2:15 – 3:30 pm Panel 3: Case Law Year in Review
This panel will discuss highlights from the past year, including decisions from the Supreme Court and the Federal Circuit.
