Antitrust: U.S. and E.U. Law
Professors Mueller & Greenfield
LL.M Course 713 (cross-listed) | 2 credit hours

The course will examine and compare the competition laws of the United States and European Union (and, to a lesser extent, other jurisdictions), focusing in particular on 1) institutional structures, underlying goals and policies, and procedural aspects, and 2) the substantive areas of merger enforcement, cartel enforcement, and monopolization. We will emphasize in particular, reconciling US and EU procedures and substantive rules to further effective competition enforcement and efficient business practices in an increasingly globalized economy. Students are strongly encouraged to take an introductory US or non-US competition law class prior to taking this course.
