This seminar investigates traditional questions of jurisprudence from the standpoint of two influential movements: the cognitive revolution in the sciences of mind, brain, and behavior, and the human rights revolution in constitutional and international law. The course introduces students to recent work in cognitive science and examines its implications for law and legal theory, and the theory of human rights in particular.
