Having a broad range of experience in all phases of international commercial and investment arbitration, he has acted for public and private entities around the world, as counselor and advocate, in arbitrations under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce, the American Arbitration Association, the International Center for the Settlement of Investment Disputes, and the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules. Additionally, Professor Ali has represented parties before inter-governmental tribunals, including the United States-Iran Claims Tribunal, the United Nations Compensation Commission, and the International Court of Justice. He was decorated by the King of Bahrain with the Order of Bahrain for his 2001 representation of Bahrain in its territorial and maritime border dispute with Qatar before the International Court of Justice. Professor Ali has published several articles in esteemed journals. He has given speeches on four continents and has represented the interests of clients in more than twenty-five countries.
