She provides comprehensive planning services to clients who enjoy substantial wealth, whether built or inherited, as well as to those who are in the process of accumulating wealth. In all cases, Ms. Allan seeks to preserve and protect each client's assets in a tax-sensitive manner, respecting the personal needs and objectives of that client. Ms. Allan is experienced in all aspects of estate planning and estate administration, including traditional wills and revocable trusts and sophisticated strategies involving generation-skipping or dynasty trusts, insurance trusts, residence trusts, “defective” grantor trusts, split-interest trusts, family limited partnerships and intra-family sales and loans. In addition to trusts and estates work, Ms. Allan counsels charitable organizations on federal tax and state law issues. Before founding Allan & Flax, Ms. Allan served as a Partner with Baker & Hostetler and as Associate General Counsel for The Pew Charitable Trusts. She is a graduate of Princeton University and Fordham Law School.
