Professor Banjanin is an attorney-advisor for the Office of Associate Chief Counsel (International) Branch 1 of the Internal Revenue Service, which has primary subject-matter jurisdiction over legal and interpretive issues involving U.S. income tax treaties as well as U.S. transfer tax treaties. She focuses on a variety of subject matters including, but not limited to, income tax treaty interpretation, transfer tax treaty interpretation, cross-border compensation issues, foreign trust and estate taxation, and expatriation. She has represented her office at tax treaty negotiations with several countries.
