Mr. Bardenwerper is Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Towers Watson, a publicly-held global professional consulting firm, a position he has held since 1987. At Towers Watson he manages a legal department with attorneys in the U.S., U.K, Germany, Netherlands, Hong Kong and South Africa. In 2000, he led the legal team in the company’s IPO after 55 years as a private firm; in 2005 he managed the legal team in a $500 million merger with a 120 year-old British partnership, R. Watson & Sons, and last year managed the $3.2 billion merger with competitor Towers Perrin. He served on the Board of Directors and on the Executive and Finance Committees of the company during its pre-IPO period. He is a director of Professional Consultants Insurance Company, and a past director of the Association of Management Consulting Firms. Mr. Bardenwerper previously was an attorney with Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft and Assistant General Counsel of Satellite Business Systems. He is a member of the District of Columbia, Vermont, Kentucky, and Virginia bars, as well as the American Corporate Counsel Association.
