Professor Barnes is a Vice President and General Counsel of Archura (formerly Network Solutions), where his work focuses on corporate finance, domestic and international mergers and acquisition, federal procurement, commercial contracts and corporate litigation. Prior to his current position, Professor Barnes held public service positions with the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Chief Counsel’s Office of the U.S. House Oversight Committee. Prior to entering the practice of law, Professor Barnes worked as an executive at multinational corporations where he led several domestic and international business initiatives, including an audit and evaluation of credit lending facilities for the Ministry of Finance in Cairo, Egypt. His background and experience is geographically and substantively diverse and includes achievements in both legal and business aspects of corporate transactions and finance. Professor Barnes’ academic work is focused on business and tax issues related to the regulation of derivatives and other financial products under Dodd Frank. He joined the Georgetown Law adjunct faculty in 2013.
