Sumon Dantiki is currently Special Counsel to the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Prior to his service at the Bureau, he worked as a Trial Attorney in the Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section of the U.S. Department of Justice. In this role, he had a range of responsibilities across the Section’s litigation, policy, and international functions. He also served as a member of the Department’s Cybersecurity Unit, which provides advice and guidance within the United States government and engages in outreach to the private sector and academia to promote best practices in cybersecurity.
Professor Dantiki previously served as Special Counsel to the Assistant Attorney General for National Security at the U.S. Department of Justice and as a Special Assistant United States Attorney in the District of Maryland. He clerked for the Honorable José A. Cabranes of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the Honorable Kenneth M. Karas of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. In addition to his government service, he has worked in private practice at two international law firms. A former Fulbright Scholar, he is a graduate of Yale Law School and the University of Michigan.
